Kirsten Van Drunen
Kirsten is a fierce advocate who brings polish and preparation to all of her cases. A fifteen-year veteran of criminal law, she has a special talent for arguing difficult jury trials. Kirsten has earned the respect of judges, lawyers, and clients with her strong courtroom presence and common-sense style. She has successfully defended extremely serious cases, including winning “not guilty” verdicts in multiple murder trials.

When she’s not working, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her husband and family and taking on big athletic projects. She has through-hiked the Annapurna Circuit, run a multi-day stage race on her grandmother’s home island, and stood on the podium many times with her mountain bike team.

Erik Van Drunen
Erik joined Van Drunen Criminal Law after working at a national law firm in Kitchener-Waterloo. He has achieved excellent results at all levels of Ontario court. He is a skilled trial lawyer and regularly represents clients in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Erik is also the firm’s resident appeal lawyer and has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal on multiple occasions.
Erik is a professional, passionate advocate. He is dedicated to building relationships with his clients and achieving the best possible results for them, whether at trial or on plea.
Erik enjoys camping with his wife and two children, building combat robots, and is a proud AFOL (Adult Fan Of Lego). His most memorable builds include the Technic Land Rover Defender, the Maersk Line Triple-E container ship, and the Black Monarch’s Castle (circa 1988).

Henry Van Drunen
Before joining as a partner at Van Drunen Criminal Law, Henry spent more than 25 years as a Crown prosecutor in the Stratford Crown Attorney’s Office and London Regional Crown Attorney’s Office. He knows how the system works. As a defence lawyer for over 10 years, Henry has represented clients facing all types of criminal charges, from sexual assault and driving offences to drug trafficking and theft.
Henry provides clients with experienced representation when they need it the most.
Outside the courtroom, Henry enjoys cycling, running and, together with his wife Lykke, spending time with their Canadian and Australian grandchildren.
